I got up today and hopped on the scale. 234.5! Down a pound from where it was on the 27th! I fixed coffee, then later made some ramen because you know that’s the breakfast of champions, right? ;) Then I called 24hourfitness to cancel my membership.
I sat on hold for 10 minutes.
I finally got to talk to a rep, who had a crazy accent and was hard to understand.
He insisted on putting my membership on hold and assured me that’s what he would do.
I said for the 10th time I didn’t want it to on hold, and to cancel it.

After tonight, I will no longer be a member of 24HourFitness. No, don’t panic. I’m not quitting the gym. I’m moving to another one. Don’t get me wrong. I love going to 24Hour… but I hate the prices. Shana told me to check out Sport Club AV when I had a chance and I did. They are in the old 24Hour building here in Lancaster. They have newer equipment, but not as much. They did say they are still bringing stuff in. They have almost the same hours as 24Hour- 24 hours Monday through Friday, and 7 to 7 Saturday & Sunday. They also give you a 1 hour session with a trainer your first day in there to help find your weak areas and what you need to work on. After the tour, and after talking to the guy for a few minutes, I was pretty much sold. Oh! But did I mention the cost? $649.88 is the rate I would pay for my first year at 24Hour. $319.88 is the rate I’ll pay at Sport Club AV for the first year. $259.87 is the rate after that (same, but minus sign-up fees). That’s like 40% of 24HourFitness’ rates. Needless to say, I am sold and looking forward to my workout with Brandon tomorrow at 8pm. Apparently he’s a Marine, so I’m going to think I’ve died halfway through I’m sure, but I’m still eagerly anticipating it.

Weigh in today was not as good as I had hoped. All week I’d been down to 235.5 but after yesterday’s birthday celebrating, the scale was back up a bit. Still, it was down from last Sunday, and that’s what counts. Not a lot, but half a pound still feels pretty good after consuming everything we did last night- we split 3 appetizers (fried shrimp, spring rolls, and beef satay) then we each had our entree and our coconut milk laden drink. But hey, if we make it to the gym over the next few days, and I don’t eat all of my APs I earn, I should be back down to where I was a few days ago with no problem. I hope so anyway. lol
Didn’t do much today as I slept late, since we were up so late yesterday. I did get the house vacuumed though, and later went grocery shopping with Alix at Food4Less. We both got way more than we meant to, so maybe we shouldn’t shop together.
