One of my goals for this year is to sew 8 new projects. I have tons of fabric (my stash is embarrassingly large for someone who really only sews in small spurts here and there) and I have more patterns than any person who doesn’t sew much has a right to. But I’ve put off sewing new clothes for myself for a while now because quite simply, I hate grading up the patterns to fit me because I let myself get so big. At the start of this week, my measurement s put me in the range for a size 22. When I reach the measurements for a size 20, I’m going to sew myself something. Maybe just a shirt, but something. That’s 2 more inches off of my bust, and 2.5 inches off of my waist. Its probably also about 2 inches off of my hips, but I never bother with that measurement because that one stays pretty much in line with the others, and most of the patterns I sew have full skirts, so the hip measurement isn’t so important.
I’ve also started reading The Hunger Games. Its definitely an easy read, but even just a few pages in, I know I’m going to read them all. I meant to be reading Xenocide, but after I was 4 whole pages in, my Amazon package arrived and I had to crack The Hunger Games. I already know how Orson Scott Card writes… lol. This was something new. And yes, I know Battle Royale was done before these and is basically the same story. I’ll watch those in the near future too.
My workout was good today. Just by stepping up the incline and by doing intervals of slightly faster speeds, I brought my burn way up- I burned 130 calories more in the same period of time as I did two days ago doing pretty much the same thing. I walked about 3.5 miles, broken into two sets, and did my weights in between. After the last time, I realized the 30lbs on the ab crunch machine is really way too easy, so did the whole thing at 40lbs. I also increased the weight on two of my sets of tricep extensions, and I think soon I can increase the weight on the leg curls. The leg extensions though- ugh! Not for a while!
The walking was done broken into alternating quarter miles, from 3mph to 3.3mph. I also thought the 5% incline would be tougher than it was, but after about about 1/4th of a mile, it didn’t even feel that different from walking on the flat.
This is what I did:
- walk 37:30 mins 1.95 miles 4% 3.12mph
- bicep curl 10×3 @ 20lbs
- leg extension 10×3 @ 40lbs
- tricep extension 10×1 @ 30lbs
- tricep extension 10×2 @ 40lbs
- ab crunch machine 10×3 @ 40lbs
- lat pulldown 10×3 @ 40lbs
- prone leg curl 10×3 @ 40lbs
- walk 30 mins 1.57 miles 5% 3.14mph
I had planned to try some sit-ups, but after all that, waiting for the little skinny dude who had been doing sit-ups on the bench (something has to hold my feet) for lie 35 minutes with no signs of stopping didn’t sound that appealing so I went home. Maybe tomorrow. :) I’m 21.43 APs away from earning 150 APs this month! That means I need to earn an average of 7.15 APs the next three days to make that goal. I’m also 7.33 miles from my walk 50 miles in a month goal. 2.45 miles a day the next three days will earn me that one too. I’m pretty sure I can do it! Feeling confident!
Food was good today. I was a little worried earlier after the tortilla with hummus (something I probably should not have in the house at all) but it ended up okay.

Tomorrow I’ll walk 4 miles on the 5% incline and that should be good. Now though, I need to load the next six episodes of The Hitchhiker’s Guide t the Galaxy onto my mp3 player so I can listen to it tomorrow and Friday. :)
