Day 190 – 227

Hello out there! Today’s Sunday, and you know what that means. Weigh and measure day. The scale was down 1.3 pounds form last Sunday, and my measurements were the same as last week. Body fat %, however reliable that is or isn’t, was down by 0.1%. Even if its not accurate, its seems to be consistent, and slowly moving downwards. No complaints here. When my body fat % was measured at the gym in the end of January, I did the math. 40.8% of my body weight was fat. That was 96.8 pounds of nasty, yellow, adipose tissue. Now, its slightly lower at 38.8%, and I’m carrying 86.1 pounds of the stuff around with me. That’s still a disgusting amount of fat, but its better than it was. Its 10.4 pounds less than it was.

I picked up Subway for lunch to have with Mattie today, and got a 6″ turkey on wheat with spinach, tomato, onions, bell peppers, olives, and honey mustard. I usually get the foot-long, but since I was eating earlier in the day, I knew I’d get hungry mid-afternoon and would need to save room for a third actual meal in there somewhere.

I also managed to get up and do something today. Besides vacuuming, which I was going to do anyway, I strapped on my HRM, got out the DDR platform (yes, I actually own one of the big, bulky, 35-pound, arcade style DDR platforms- that’s how much I used to play) and turned it on. I’ve got the air on, but it’s still pretty warm, so about five minutes in I ended up taking of my shirt. That felt so much better. I ended up doing 27 minutes and burning 315 calories. Tomorrow I’m going to shoot for 400, and I am going to try to do something active every day this week, even if only for a few minutes.

I’ve also been thinking about my goals I set for the year. Not the fitness goals, just my general goals for life. Two of them (vacuuming once a week and paying off the car loan) I’m right on track. The rest though- I’m behind. There’s no reason why I can’t get back on track with the cooking and sewing ones, but some of the rest I’m not so sure. Anyway, that got me thinking about next year. And it got me thinking about my Kiva loans. I gave three loans last October when I got my insurance settlement. And since this year has started, I’ve turned the repaid money back around and given out two more loans. In August I should have enough paid back to give a third, and in November, a fourth and fifth. By then my original $75 will have been loaned out to a total of $200. Kiva is still giving a free $25 loan to new lenders to give- sign up, and give $25 on them to the person or group of your choice. I hope next year I can turn this same money into another $125 for people who really need it.

Anyway, food today was… eh. I was pretty much starving all day long, so I was eating something every few hours. The dogs were driving me crazy all day too. They wanted to go out, but once they were out, they wanted in because it was too hot. Sashi was doing the burning paws dance for added effect. Then once they came in, they wanted to play. Our house is tiny- there is no room for two 70 pound dogs to play chase in the house. They literally did not spend more than 2 minutes outside until 3:30pm when they were out for ten minutes. After dinner, once it cooled off a lot, I made sure they spent a few hours outside. Hopefully tomorrow they will be more willing to settle down inside and behave. I get they’re cooped up and they want to play but seriously, they need to cut me a break!

Here’s today’s eats.

Tomorrow I am hoping my mom is going too come by and pick up the 12 or 15 egg cartons I have on top of the fridge. I really want to clean up that area, but the egg cartons have to go before I can do that. I’m scared to see how much dust and dirt might be up there as well.

When we get our produce deliveries on Tuesday, there is a sheet that comes with that has some news about the farms producing the produce, and it also has a 3 x 5 area of the newsletter that has a recipe on each side. I found some plastic sheet protectors that hold four of these sized cards, so I can organize the little recipe cards too.

I’m done rambling for the night though, so signing off. Have a great night, and see you tomorrow!
