Not much happened today. I woke up with a headache, and sat around for most of the early afternoon. Eventually I decided to vacuum, and after vacuuming the house, I attempted to vacuum the dogs. Sashi freaked out, but Lucy seemed to enjoy it quite a bit, but it didn’t last long because she almost immediately clogged up my vacuum attachment with all her loose hair.
Around 4:15, I went to the gym for a little bit of weights, a quick walk, and to prove I could jog the half mile again. Walked 0.25, jogged 0.5, walked 0.25. Then I did some weights. When I did the prone leg curls, I felt like they were way too easy at 40 pounds. Maybe I’ll try 50 next time.Anyway, that only took a few minutes, but I was drenched in sweat. I went home to guzzle more water, and to start on dinner. We tried a new recipe tonight that I really liked, but Mattie said was too bland. I guess its good that I liked it because I’ll be eating the leftovers for a few days.
After dinner, I went for a walk around the neighborhood with two things in mind- 1) to walk as quickly as possible, and 2) to take pictures of things I saw along the way to share with you guys. Here’s what I saw.
I met a man walking three dogs, and I tried to take a picture of one of his dogs, but the three I took were all blurry. I decided not to post any of them. One of his dogs was nice enough and gave me a polite sniff, one ignored me completely, and one snarled at me. Not a nice doggy!
When I got to the end of the street, this is what I saw. These are the new street signs they put up along the Blvd to try and spruce it up. You’ll see more of the Blvd in a minute. It looks really nice, and its pleasant to walk down, but driving down it is a nightmare!
This is some sort of museum, though I’m honestly not sure what’s in there. I’ve only seen the sign on the front of it a few times as I’ve walked or driven by. I do know the building is very old, and was restored not too long ago. I think it was one of the original buildings on the Blvd back around the turn of the 20th century. It’s actually a pretty building, even in those colors.
This ugly faux-stone lion is one of a pair that sits outside of a shop on the Blvd. I can’t remember what the shop is, only that its before the wig shop, which has the craziest assortment of wigs I’ve ever seen. A lot of them are in extremely unnatural colors, and would be excellent for Halloween!
This next one is on Sierra Hwy. Its kind of a seedy area, and there’s a lot of closed down buildings and old shops, and way too many smoke shops and barber shops for one short half mile of anything. I don’t think we really need 2 or 3 smoke shops within 2 blocks of each other.
This one reminds me a project we had to do in class when I was actively studying computer graphics. We had to do a logo, business card, and letterhead (an envelope too I think) for a fictional business- 5 Star Winery. Every time I pass by here I think of that project and how horrible my contribution was. Then I tell myself how much better my work is now and I have nothing to be embarrassed about!
Anyway, that was most of my walk. After that, there’s a block or two before you hit the next main street and then its neighborhoods, which are varying degrees of good and bad depending on which street you go down. Not a lot to see there, and even though there are a few cute houses, I’d feel weird standing in front of a stranger’s house taking photos of it.
My total distance was 1.5 miles, which I covered in 26:50, averaging a pace just under 3.4 miles per hour. No wonder I was sweating by the time I got home! After I had a chance to rest up a bit, I went out and watered the outside plants, which are sorely neglected with Richard being away form home. I never remember to water the poor things.
Food was pretty good today. No crazy snacking, no getting carried away anywhere, and when I ate, I didn’t stuff myself silly like I do at dinner half the time.

I didn’t work out hard this week, but I was fairly consistent, and my eating was pretty good for the most part. Fat calories averages are a little high, but I had some really bad days with that earlier in the week. Points were on target, and after taking out my APs, I used a total of 13.3 of my 35 WPA. That’s pretty good for me, though I’m still not consciously counting them.
Anyway, tomorrow is Sunday, which means official weight and measurements. I’ll see you all tomorrow night, hopefully with a good weigh in and some measurement changes.
