Thursday Day 398 & Friday Day 399 Food Diary

Here’s another multiple day post for you guys, because even though I was parked in front of my laptop almost all night last night, I never got around to actually posting. There were a lot of things I meant to do, but I didn’t actually get any of them done. I meant to clear off the dining room table. I meant to do more work in my craft room. I meant to get off of my ass and get some exercise. What’s my great excuse? I don’t have one and I’m not going to try to come up with one. I just didn’t do any of those things yesterday. What I did do was eat too much food, although most of what I ate was pretty friendly. I was starving around 2pm and had to go out to run errands. My original plan was to walk to the post office to mail something but it was raining, so I drove. Then I drove to the grocery store and bought a small thing of sushi which I ate for lunch. I also failed at math when I was decided how much of it to actually eat. Next time I will know better.

Towards the end of the night, before I actually went to bed, I got an email from Emmie at Skinny Emmie and found out I won her IGIGI $50 gift certificate give away! I have looked at their stuff multiple times since then and I still have no idea what I’d like to get, though I am leaning heavily towards a certain sweater. I always hated sweaters as a kid. They were always bulky and ugly and they made me feel old. Now there are so many gorgeous sweaters in different weights, yards, and styles its insane and I love them! I’ll definitely let you guys know what I choose. :)

I may also be doing a small thing next month (hopefully) selling my crafts at the Crazy Otto’s in Rosamond. I turned in the application, so just waiting to hear back from the woman running it if its a go or not. I can’t see why it won’t be accepted as she was trying really hard to get more vendors signed up for it. Tracy will be going with me so I won’t be alone in crazy and sometimes scary Rosamond. Rosamond is a hole in the wall town and doesn’t get a lot of anything, but the event is going to be publicized on radio and in the newspaper, so I’m hoping for a decent turnout. I’m also hoping for decent weather because its in freaking December and outside. Please, no rain or severe winds that day!

So, back to Thursday’s food. I thought we were never going to eat dinner because Mattie had something he needed to do after work. Something that should have taken 30 minutes tops, but instead took hours. We didn’t eat until almost 7:30pm, which is really late for us. We usually eat at 5. I used up quite a bit of veggies though and some apples that were on their way out by cooking them into applesauce, so we didn’t lack in healthy things at dinner. At that point I was only slightly over my limits, but later on had a little bit of cheese too. And what happened to exercising? We ate so late and then it was time for Big Bang to come on and I just never got to it. :(

Here’s Thursday’s food diary.

Its really not that bad, but it’s not where I wanted to be either. And just because I’m over my goals for the day is not reason to say “What the hell! Why shouldn’t I eat this piece of cheese?” and then eat it.

Today (Friday) was much better. I did some beading, including a new and quick commission which resulted in an immediate sale, and worked on the stuff I am doing for Tracy. I also started scheming for gift ideas for a few people. I think I have one of them figured out. I also had a 20 minute interview at mental health regarding the last year and my plans for next year. It went amazingly smoothly, and I wasn’t stressed at all. It really helped that the woman interviewing me had a sense of humor and was friendly without seeming forced.

I fixed some cod, spinach from our produce delivery, and pasta for dinner, which was delicious, but not that filling, so I had some yogurt later on. After dinner, I wanted to go grocery shopping, so went to feed the dogs a little early only to find someone forgot to buy dog food and there wasn’t any in the bin. The dogs were very upset that I had their bowls and no food, and even more so when I walked out the door to go buy dog food, leaving them hungry for a while longer. I was intending to buy a pound of salmon, but when I got to the store, the packages that are usually $7 were $4.98, so I grabbed two of them. I also bought three pounds of hamburger, which I still need to put into bags and into the freezer. The freezer which is 30% full of a turkey. I honestly have no idea where I’m going to squeeze the hamburger in there. I also picked up a bottle of wine, which we can have with dinner tomorrow night assuming we eat in.

So, today was a good day pretty much any way you look at it, save for Mattie forgetting to buy dog food. I’m also freaking tired, so going to post today’s food, take my meds, and go read for a while and hopefully fall asleep early. Here’s Friday’s food diary.
