Thursday Day 468 Food Diary

scale2The scale was down some more today, which as of this morning, puts me down 2 pounds since Sunday’s weigh in. I honestly cannot believe how much of a different slightly limiting my carbs seems to be making. If this loss holds through the weekend, it will be my best loss in, well, since the first week of December. While it makes me sad to think I’ve had such crappy losses lately (which were due to my not tracking well and just not making an effort), it makes me feel really good to see the scale moving so well this week. This also puts me 0.6 pounds from my next goal, and 0.1 BMI points from that goal. I am so close to making my “overweight” goal I can taste it! Maybe taste it isn’t the right phrase since tasting stuff is part of what got me to this size in the first place. :whistle:

Food today has been pretty good. I did eat a lot more carbs today than I have been this week, but I also ate a lot of good things too. I’ve settled into a routine with yogurt & coffee & an apple, later followed by fruit and cottage cheese followed by dinner. I literally cannot get enough dairy most of the time, and you’ve probably noticed this. I could easily go meat-free, but give up dairy? No way! 😮

Dinner tonight was homemade chicken soup. I don’t follow a recipe for this so much as I toss a bunch of stuff in a pot. I cut 2 of the dinkiest little chicken breasts I’ve ever seen into small pieces, chopped up two big carrots, 4 stalks of celery, and 3 small potatoes. Then I dumped 3 chicken bouillon cubes in and added enough water to cover it all. I brought it to a boil, then reduced the flame to a very low simmer until everything was tender. Mattie’s been feeling sick lately, and apparently chicken soup was exactly what he wanted today. I also got two 8″ sub rolls and used those to sop up the liquids of the soup. Those sub rolls are made fresh in the bakery at Food4Less and cost $0.25 each and are so good! :love:

I thought about going for a walk today but really wasn’t feeling it. I vacuumed the house again instead, and watched some Grey’s Anatomy. I’m midway through season 5 now. Sadie just quit the program, Little Grey & McSteamy are an item, and Izzy realizes something is wrong. I was really hoping to get some reading done today, which I have been telling myself a lot lately, but it has yet to happen. :(

I’ve had some sort of dessert for the last few days, which is weird because I’ve never really been a dessert type of person, but since I’ve been actively counting P+ again, it just seems right. And I’ve kept them under control without going overboard. Tonight I had what was actually two servings of ice cream, but it only put me 1 P+ into my weeklies, so I feel I can say I had the room to do it. 😉

Not much else to report today. I’m waiting for payment on a couple of survey companies I cashed out on recently, and am close to cashing out on three more. Hopefully I’ll be able to do that soon as I’d like a little fun money to play with. 8) Gonna hit post now, and deem the kitchen officially closed for the night!
