See that? I made my goal today to lose 9 points off of my BMI score, plus a little more. This puts my a mere 0.6 pounds away from my next mini-goal- to lose 60 pounds. I have lost the equivalent of almost 2 large bags of dog food off of my body. That’s what our two dogs eat every month. I was talking to someone about my weight loss yesterday and he asked if I feel different. To be honest, most of the time, no. Sometimes I see myself in the mirror and I go back and stare at myself because I can’t believe that that is really me. In my head, I’m still 250 pounds, with weird bulges and curves in places I shouldn’t have them. Of course I still have some unwanted curves and bulges, mostly on my lower belly, but I’m starting to get some real definition to my waist- from the front and back at least!
Anyway, I started my day with oatmeal for breakfast, and I finished up with a survey company, netting me a $25 Amazon.com gift card code. Shortly after I strapped on my HRM and headed out to walk to my doctor’s appointment. The actual walk to the clinic is about 0.3 miles through the neighborhood, and then another 0.3 miles up a somewhat busy street. There was a farmer’s market going on today, so it was packed with people. Unfortunately, when I was about 2 blocks from where things get really crowded and busy, some drug-addled crackhead decided to walk with me, try to touch me, and hit me up for first my Facebook, which I said I didn’t have, and then my phone number, to which I said I was married. When I said that, his eyes got big and he literally ran away. So weird but I was so glad to see him go!
After that my walk was pretty uneventful, but I was almost in tears over that episode, and my heart was thundering in my chest as if I’d just run a half a mile without stopping. I already have a hard time going out in our neighborhood, and things like that do not help to encourage me. I was dreading walking home afterwards, but really there wasn’t much I could do about that. All I could do was change my route, but going the way I came kept me in view of lots of people as long as possible- I would have been alone for a much further distance if I went another way. While I was at the doctor’s, I had to wait an hour past my appointment time, and then of course I was in and out in five minutes, and made my way home unmolested.
When I got home, I jumped in my car, dropped my Rx off at the pharmacy, and bought celery, carrots, and some bread rolls to go with the chicken soup Mattie requested for dinner. I also got the cottage cheese I forgot to get on Monday, since I’m already sick to death of oatmeal after three days. The cottage cheese will be a very welcome change, and I know its still a healthy option for me that keeps me satisfied for a few hours.
Dinner was a quick and easy make, and as always, delicious. The Points+ were a little high but I did cut up a bunch of little baby potatoes in there, and those carbs do wonders for jacking up P+ values! Here’s today’s food diary.
|Oatmeal w/Sugar & Cocoa Powder||10|
|Chicken Vegetable Soup||15|
|Sub Roll (8”)||7|
|Walked 32:50 Mins||385|
|Exercise Points Totals||6|
|End of Day Totals||28|
I also went ahead and (can you guess?) ordered some more books with my Amazon gift card I got. Here’s the list:
- The Lady Most Willing…: A Novel in Three Parts
- Loose Girl: A Memoir of Promiscuity
- Scattershot: My Bipolar Family
- Sins of a Wicked Duke (Historical Romance)
- Fifty Shades Freed: Book Three of the Fifty Shades Trilogy
Yeah, I said the hell with it and am going to finish the trilogy. Scattershot & Loose Girl were both under $3 and have been on my wishlist for a while, so I grabbed them. I’m trying to get through at least one other book before I receive the new ones in the mail though, and have started yet another book, this time Jupiter: A Novel by Ben Bova. I bought this one I actually think two Christmases ago and still hadn’t gotten to it.
I also thought I had a shot at selling a pair of earrings to the girl who took my vitals at the doctor’s today until I looked at her ears, and saw she had plugs. She loved them but it would be impossible for her to wear them. *sigh* I was all excited there for a minute though… lol. Anyway, I’m off for the night. See you all tomorrow!
