Hi everybody! Today was almost a perfect day on food, but I missed that at the end when I just kept scooping out more ice cream into my bowl to make it a full cup instead of the ½ cup I was meaning to get. I bought Nestle Drumsticks last week, which are delicious, but they’re also like 10 Points+ a piece! Holy hell! Anyway, I’ll give you the grocery haul in a few minutes. I had some extra items on there, so the money went fast, but I think I did okay.
I got a new shedding comb I ordered for the dogs in the mail today, which to my delight (and the dogs’ dislike) works fantastic. The problem is depending on the angle you use it at, it can really yank the undercoat out, so it has the potential to be very uncomfortable for them if you’re not careful. One of our dogs is a German Shepherd, and she spends most of Summer covered in tufts of loose hair, which she leaves on everything she touches. I spent about ten minutes working on her with the new comb, and you could see a noticeable difference in her coat right away. This is the comb I bought- she has several more available and they’re not terribly expensive and definitely worth the cost. Sashi did not like the new comb at all, but it literally took two years for her to decide the old brush was okay and to stop freaking out.
The first thing I did today upon getting up though was get dressed and head to the store after verifying my bank balances and making the final payment on my balance in my CareCredit account. Here’s the grocery haul.

You’re probably looking at my list and wondering what the hell anyone needs a gallon of apple cider vinegar and 3 pounds of baking soda for. Mattie and I use it to keep our hair clean instead of shampoo and condition. For the cost of one bottle of shampoo, we can take care of our hair for about 3 to 4 months, which is a lot longer than that bottle of shampoo would last. It seems like our hair grows faster now, though it does tangle a bit more, but our scalps are healthier too. June 1st was my 1 year anniversary for going shampoo-free, and Mattie is only a few months behind me.
What else did I do today? I did some beading, sewed two buttons on clothes (Richard’s shirt and Mattie’s pajama pants), vacuumed, brushed the dogs, and almost mailed out a package but when I got to the post office I realized 1) I’d have to make a huge detour to get in there because of road construction, and 2) I had forgotten to secure the envelope mailed with packing tape. I also went to Target and tried on a pair of size 12 shorts, which while they fastened, it was not pretty. We’re talking muffin top & camel toe- yuck!
I don’t have anything else for you today, so here’s the food diary.
|Cottage Cheese (1 Cup)||6|
|Chicken Ceasar Salad||19|
|Dreyer’s Slow Churned Peanut Butter Cup (1 Cup)||7|
And now its time for me to get ready for bed, so see you all tomorrow!
