I’m trying really hard to get back on target with my posting, but its not going especially well. I’m also trying to get back on the horse with working out, but I’ll tell you more about that in a little bit. First though, I am going to give you a post for today, and I’m going to set a new list of goals for the next week like I’m supposed to do on Tuesdays. There wasn’t a list from last week as I was barely posting at that point, and I was doing good to get my food diaries up, let alone set goals for the next week.
This week’s list of goals aren’t going to be super outgoing, as I just want to be able to achieve the damned things this time around. I’m really hoping to achieve at least seven out of ten this week!
Are you ready? Let’s see my Ten Things Tuesday for this week!
Ten Things Tuesday
- Brush the dogs at least two times.
- Vacuum the house at least two times.
- Try one new recipe.
- Finish reading The Physics of Star Trek.
- Have at least 4 days that I am no more then 3 Points+ over my daily budget between today & next Tuesday.
- Do not charge anything else to BillMeLater.
- Get a new battery in my Polar heart rate monitor.
- Workout three times & burn at least 1000 calories total.
- Give Mattie an awesome birthday night out!
- Put the laundry away the same day I wash it.
Most of these are pretty easy, and honestly, one is already done, and another one will be done tomorrow for sure.
My day was a pretty good one, despite eating all of my APs I earned today, I still stayed fairly close to where I wanted to be. I ate probably way too much fruit, and my breakfast was a little shaky (½ a sandwich plus cottage cheese) but it wasn’t a horrible food day. And halfway through the day, I loaded one of the vids I got last night onto the media player and did Jillian Michael’s Yoga Meltdown (the “easy” first half) which completely kicked my ass. I burned almost 400 calories in just over 30 minutes, and let me tell you- if you haven’t worked out in a while, the easy half of this video is not easy! I was dripping sweat and my clothes were half-soaked by the time I was finished. Of course I wasn’t sure if I was going to get to pull my workout time and burn off of my Polar because my low battery icon was showing and the display was fading in and out. Luckily it made it through my workout, and after dinner, I headed over to Radio Shack to pick up a new battery and get things right again. I’m hoping to do this workout again on Thursday and then again on Saturday afternoon before we head out. Saturday Mattie and I will be celebrating his birthday with (most likely) York Shore House for an early dinner, and either a movie afterwards or a few beers at Kinetic Brewing. My vote is for beers over popcorn but its his birthday so its his call.
I have other workouts on my media player’s hard drive too I want to check out this week, so hopefully I can find something for the other days as well. Getting those videos was part of my “motivate me” plan to get back to doing something again as I have pretty much sat on my ass for the last ten weeks. Ten weeks!
Anyway, here’s today’s food diary.

Tomorrow I am trying out a new recipe for dinner that I saw posted on Facebook today, which I have high hopes for. You ever see a recipe that is so ridiculously simple and just sounds amazing? Yeah, that’s this one. If it turns out well I’ll share it on my recipes site tomorrow night.
I may also be going to visit a few fabric stores with my friend Joann sometime soon as she’s asked me to make her a purse- I know she’ll enjoy picking her own fabrics for it, and its a super easy pattern to put together and I love how they always turn out. Of course I have other sewing I should be doing, but the last week I’ve been thinking about beads instead- I have an idea I’d really like to see work but it still needs so alterations before I’ll be ready to try it in actual beads. I’ve also told my other friend Kate I’d love to donate something to a thing she wants to put together to help raise money for a rescue group, the one she got the handsome and silly Dennis from.
That’s all I’ve got for you tonight, so see you all tomorrow!
