I’m still sick, so probably going to be another short post. I woke up with the need t blow my nose 573 times today, I felt sorry for myself for feeling like crap, I watched a few episodes of Grey’s Anatomy season 6, the most recent episode of New Girl, and I finished season 2 of American Horror, and I was glad to see it end. Season 1 I really enjoyed, but season 2 was pretty lame, with everything falling back on the aliens as if that was the answer for everything. Really? Alien abduction and experimentation is your fall-back position? xD
Food was okay today. I wouldn’t be kicking myself over it, but I ate so badly earlier in the week that I don’t have a lot of my weeklies left, so I’m really watching every P+ now. I had cottage cheese and mandarin orange slices for breakfast before remembering I wanted to eat the leftover meatballs, so then I ate those too, which put me about 5 P+ higher at that point then I wanted to be. Then I put one of those tiny little 1-pound pork roasts I picked up for cheap a few weeks back in the slow cooker with some BBQ sauce and ignored it for four hours. Eventually it ended up shredded and mixed with more BBQ sauce and served as pulled pork sandwiches, which were delicious! The downside to it was the only hamburger buns I could find were huge (they were even labeled as “giant”) so that added more carbs than I wanted to dinner, and boosted the P+ up some more. I ended up 3 P+ into the weeklies at the end of the day. I did do an excellent job of meeting my 2 servings of fruits or veggies each day goal today though- I actually had 5 servings of fruits and veggies without even thinking about it! :woot:

I slept late today, and even though my sinus headache finally cleared up, I woke up with a really sore throat and a stuffy, snotty nose. Still, it beats the pants off of the sinus headache of yesterday, no matter how stuffy and snotty I was today. I started off the day with cottage cheese and fruit, and I’m still not sure I’m sold on the little mandarin oranges mixed with cottage cheese. Peaches are always a winner, as is fruit cocktail, and pears would probably be great, but just not feeling the orange segments. Still, I’ve only got two more little cups of them left, so I can change it up to something else soon. I’m looking forward to my next trip to the store.
I finally got an email back form my mom, who reported that everything is fine, she’s just been busy. She reported that I got some mail there, maybe something for a class action lawsuit, and that my uncle turned up to visit my grandmother, and she had some questions about adding new photos to Rafael’s website that weren’t included in the first set of instructions I sent her the other day. No mention of forgetting my birthday or anything. To say I am disappointed in her over this is an understatement. I’m extremely upset and while I’m sure you guys are getting sick of hearing me harp on it, I can’t help but voice how I feel. Besides, this is my blog, and its my place to say that stuff.

Its late, and I should be in bed, but I got up because I have a terrible sinus headache from whatever bug Mattie had, and in short I feel like crap. I’m also upset because apparently my own mother can’t remember my birthday. My birthday was the 28th, and while I got a great response from my friends (you guys are awesome!), I really expected to at least get a “happy birthday” text or email from my mom if not a phone call, but instead got nothing. Sadly, I’m not all that surprised. Before my dad died, we fought constantly, and over every little thing. After my dad died, she did a complete 180° and was friendly, but basically ignored me. And since I moved out 3 years ago, she hasn’t even called me once just to talk. The only time she ever contacts me is when she needs help with something- normally the computer. The last couple times I have called her, I’ve basically been left talking to myself because she was too busy watching TV to hear anything I said. This does not make me happy, and really makes me wish I had a better family. I sent her an email this evening asking if everything is okay, in the event there is a logical reason why she hasn’t contacted me since last week, but I have my doubts there will be one. xD
Anyway, enough rambling about my shitty family life. Food today was not great. It wasn’t even good. Between just making bad choices, feeling like crap from this bug, eating my feelings, and eating garbage to try to make myself feel better, its been a f’ing disaster. I’m not even going to try to say I did good today because I screwed up across the board. I asked Mattie to take the last of the lasagna to work today so I wouldn’t be tempted to eat it, but he didn’t, and of course I ate it. Then we had pasta for diner, and ice cream after that so the carbs (and fat- we’ll get to that) just kept piling up. :o

Finally, after stagnating at the same spot for weeks, I’m seeing a drop in the scale. I know its only a 0.6 pound loss from last week, but a loss is a loss, and it puts me that much closer to my next goal of losing 54 pounds, and my BMI merely being “overweight” instead of obese. I know my original weight loss plan had me reaching my end goal shortly before my birthday this year if I had averaged a 1.5 pound loss each week, but the reality is I am no where near there and it will probably be many months before I do get there. Still, I am going to get there, even if it takes me a while longer than planned.
