Its late, I’m ridiculously tired paired with being in a bit of a food coma from eating way too much at dinner (I’ll get to that) and I’m just realizing this is not going to be a good week for food for me at all. We went out to eat this evening for Mattie’s dad’s birthday dinner, and on Thursday we’ll be going out again, this time with his mom for Mother’s Day. I don’t know where we’re going Thursday, but tonight I went way overboard and just in general fucked up on food all day long. As it is, I’m having one of those days where I feel like food (lots of food) is the answer to everything. I had a good breakfast, but then followed it with junk, followed by fruit (partially dressed as junk) followed by a huge dinner that started with appetizers and ended with a huge burger and a side salad. Its been hours since we ate, and honestly all I can think about is eating something else, even though I’m pretty sure I’ll be sick if I do. Its just one of those days. :(

Some of you might be familiar with this page- 2013 Yearly Goals. I update it once in a while to reflect how much progress I’m making on different things, and I did that today as it had been a few weeks since I last checked it. Here’s a quick recap of where I stand as of today. Considering its only the beginning of May, and I am over 50% of the way on 7 out of 10, I think I am doing good so far.
- Read 35 books (no re-reads) (21/35 – 60%)
- Pay off 50% of my total debt this year. ($506 of $3163 – 16%)
- Sew 12 new projects this year (6/12 – 50%)
- Vacuum the house once a week (11/18 – 61%)
- Make my goal weight (lose total of 100 pounds) (67/100 – 67%)
- Workout at least 3 times per week, every week (1/18 – 6%)
- Eat 2 servings of fruits or veggies every day (102/128 – 80%)
- Cook 26 new recipes this year (13/26 – 50%)
- Fit in Mattie’s pants comfortably
- Make 5 new loans on Kiva. (4/5 – 80%)

The food diary was good today, but first, let’s talk about other things! I was super productive today, and I made a new dress- this dress. And amazingly, even though I was terrified because its a Vogue pattern, it went pretty smoothly, although I did make some changes to the pattern. I chose not to include the contrasting waistband. I cut it, stitched it, decided I hated it, and took it off. I’m pretty sure it was mostly due to my fabric choice, which was not how I pictured it when I ordered it. I also left out the waistband elastic, and shortened the straps by about 5 inches. The neckline was way, way, way too low the way it was. I also left out the zipper because it pulls on over my head just fine, and honestly, it looks almost exactly like the photo on the envelope. Unfortunately that makes me a little sad, because it looks store-bought. I wanted something unique and different, but my fabric choice made this look ordinary. I’ll take photos of it tomorrow with me in it and post them with more details on my sewing blog.
Other than sewing an entire new dress in one go, I really didn’t do much today. Food was random and all over the place, and I ended up one Point+ into the weeklies at the end of the day. That’s not too bad though because I really did just kind of eat stuff at random today and not really pay attention to what. The only reason I ate dinner tonight was because I knew later when I tried to sleep I’d be starving, but working in my craft room all day I didn’t think about food at all.

I still feel pretty crappy today, but you’ll get a real post and not just my food diary. I’m tired, my head feels like its packed full of cotton batting, and my nose won’t stop running. The last thing I wanted to do today is anything at all, but I still managed to do a load of laundry, vacuum the house, make dinner, and make tea for Mattie. I also did my measurements and weight for this month, and I have a 4.2 pound loss for last month, and 2.5″ added up from here and there. I was really hoping to lose 5 pounds, but the last week was just bad. The scale was all over the place, despite eating decently.
I also finally talked to the woman in charge of our delivery route for AHO, and found out what happened and why we didn’t get our delivery. Basically, she took one half of this area, and the new guy they just hired took the other half- my half. It was still fuzzy what had happened this morning, but this afternoon she called me back and was able to explain everything. Apparently the new kid delivered our box to my mom’s house (my billing address) 30 minutes outside of town, so my mom got a box of veggies, and my raisins, all tucked neatly away in the ice chest outside her back door. When she called him to ask what happened, he asked her why they were delivering to a house so far out there, and that it took an hour to make that one delivery. That pretty much explained everything. I asked my mom to bring me my raisins tomorrow and she can keep whatever else. Part of me is laughing about this and part of me is wondering how the kid managed to not notice not going out there last week on his ride along. Doh! I do feel bad they are having to eat the cost, but it was a mistake on their part, not mine.
