Hi everyone! I hope you’re ready for Christmas, because its pretty much here now. This is going to be a fairly short post, but I’m going to try to squeeze everything in. Yesterday I did really well on food, especially considering we went to a party. I had a quesadilla for breakfast, which was followed by an 800+ calorie workout, and later we drove out to the party at our friends.
They had a few things to munch on there, mainly dessert items brought by other guests, and dinner was chicken Parmesan, fettuccine Alfredo, salad, and garlic bread. They had it brought in by a place called Giovanni’s, and it was really, really good. We may need to go check it out some time and have dinner there. I had a small portion of everything, followed by a second helping of salad several hours later.
I will admit to too many brownie bites (homemade y another friend’s mom) with peanut butter chips in them, a few cookies, and a small slice of fruit cake. Still, I really didn’t go way overboard and I’m pretty proud of myself for not stuffing myself silly. I’m not all that proud of how much I had to drink though- there was a peppermint cranberry punch, plus a few mixed shots that were divine, and I probably had enough to drink to last me a year as I normally have one drink a month, if that.

I’ve been a bad blogger, as I said yesterday, but hopefully that’s past now and I will stay back on track. I think when I don’t blog, I get lazy with my food and my tracking, and that’s never good! I got up today, lounged around for a bit, and then had some egg scrambled with spinach and shredded carrots. Its quick, easy, and the veggies make me stay full a lot longer then if I just had eggs. I also had some coffee. :) Mmm! Coffee! After that, I got ready to go to the gym, and headed out.
When I got to the gym, I did a 15 minute warm-up walk, then did a set on each of the weight machines I was going to do, and walked another 15 minutes. Then I did another set of all the weight machines, and walked 15 minutes more. My calorie burn was pretty good, and OMG did the weights have me sweating! After that I came home, and heated up the little bit of butternut squash I had baked last night, mixed in a tablespoon of butter, and a little sugar, and had it as my post-workout snack/meal.

Tuesday’s walking & weights workout.
I have been a terrible blogger this week. I have barely posted, and the few posts I’ve made have been pretty lame. I think my FMM post was the best one I’ve made in a while and I didn’t even get it up in time. The only thing I have done well this week is get to the gym. My workouts have been short, but they’ve been pretty intense overall. Monday I did a walk/run workout, which I posted about, Tuesday I did some walking plus a round of weights which actually made me sweat a whole lot more than I thought it would- believe me, I was beat after that- and today I did another walk/run workout with an unexpected twist thrown in. The actual workout today was supposed to be the same as my workout on Monday- walk 5 minutes, run 3 minutes, walk 5, run 2, walk 5, run 3, and walk 7. But I was having a really, really hard time getting through the first run, and part way through my second walk I saw why.
Normally, when someone stops the treadmill and it resets, it goes back to zero everything. Apparently this time it did not because I did my first walk, first run, and second walk on a 1% incline. 1% doesn’t sound like a lot, and for just walking, its really not. But when you’re struggling to get through your runs already, that added 1% is a killer! I ended up setting it to zero at the end of my second walk and doing my next two runs and walks on no incline.

I busted ass at the gym today, and it felt great! I did 30 minutes early in the day, and burned 370 calories, then later went back to the gym and did another 458 calories in 38 minutes. My calorie intake for the day seems high when you first look, but most of it was healthy choices, and I did burn off 800+ at the gym. I also managed to get a well-rounded workout in there too, so I feel really good about that. I also did some vacuuming (its rained pretty much all last night and all day today) because Sashi tracked muddy paw prints all over the carpet twice, and I did some sewing. The sewing was… well, I’m not all that pleased with it. Long story short, I think I must have been drunk (unlikely in reality) when I cut the dress pieces because nothing lined up properly and it just looked like shit. All I could save from the project was the skirt- I ripped out the stitches holding the bodice in place, and tossed that hot mess, and just treated the skirt of the dress as a skirt. I think it might be wearable if it doesn’t undergo too close of scrutiny, but we’ll see how it holds up when I throw it in the wash. I’m not happy with it at all but I couldn’t bear to scrap the whole thing, so I salvaged what I could of it. Maybe I’ll post pics later. We’ll see.
While my workouts at the gym were really good, I had my doubts that I should have left the house both driving there, and driving home. On the way there, I watched a rig flip a bitch in front of me, then cut me off to get into the left turn lane ahead of me. Yeah, you’re huge, but don’t be a dick! We sat through three cycles of the light before he managed to get his rig rolling and through the intersection to make the turn. Then as we went down the street (another main street with plenty of traffic), the driver suddenly swerved hard into the left lane, and slammed on the brakes. All surrounded traffic screeched and slid to a stop. Then the driver made a right turn from the far left lane. He never signaled, and I’ve been enough enough rigs t know they make wide right turns, but not so wide as to need to be in the left lane- the center lane is more then enough.
