This week’s official weigh and measure was pretty much a flop. I used all my weeklies on Friday & Saturday, so the scale was way up today compared to only a few days ago. Not too pleased with that, but it is what it is. I did it, I get to live with it, right? Still, there was a loss, so its not all bad. I’m pretty sure the scale will be down quite a bit in the morning though, or at least by Tuesday morning.
I had planned on spending some time in my craft room today but I didn’t. The most productive thing I did all day today was brush the dogs, which oddly enough Sashi is the one who is shedding the most. Usually its Lucy who is losing hair all over the place, not Sash.
I also tried to win a pattern I really wanted on eBay, but I got way outbid at the last second. The same pattern is available from the manufacture for $3.99 though right now, so may just order from there, depending on whether or not the site will work- so far I can’t go through the checkout process at all without an error. Grrr. Probably better this way though because I’m technically broke.

Some of you might be familiar with this page- 2013 Yearly Goals. I update it once in a while to reflect how much progress I’m making on different things, and I did that today as it had been a few weeks since I last checked it. Here’s a quick recap of where I stand as of today. Considering its only the beginning of May, and I am over 50% of the way on 7 out of 10, I think I am doing good so far.
- Read 35 books (no re-reads) (21/35 – 60%)
- Pay off 50% of my total debt this year. ($506 of $3163 – 16%)
- Sew 12 new projects this year (6/12 – 50%)
- Vacuum the house once a week (11/18 – 61%)
- Make my goal weight (lose total of 100 pounds) (67/100 – 67%)
- Workout at least 3 times per week, every week (1/18 – 6%)

Last week’s Ten Things Tuesday went really, really well! I not only met 8 out of my 10 goals, I came really close to meeting one of the others, and I exceeded some of the ones I did meet.
I was honestly surprised to see I made it through my #5 goal because late last week I went into a manic episode, and I have serious problems in those phases with spending money. I did spend some money, but it wasn’t on my BillMeLater account, and it was money I actually had, so that’s okay. I also didn’t go overboard on my spending, so even though I splurged a bit, I feel good about it.
The two goals I didn’t complete I still made an effort and was actually pretty close on one of them. Here’s the breakdown of what I accomplished.

This wasn’t a great weigh in this morning. I show a loss of 1.4 pounds, but that’s a loss from two weeks ago, not last week. Last week I didn’t weigh in. Still, a loss is a loss so I can’t be too hard on myself. My BMI is slowly working its way down- remember when I was still fighting to get it under 30 so I would no longer be classified as obese by it? I know BMI is not the most accurate way to watch your weight, but for now its a nice rough guideline to go by.
I spent most of my day in my craft room sewing dress #4- the 4th dress I have sewn start to finish in the last 4 days. Seriously. I messaged Tracy and told her I need an intervention. This is kind of ridiculous. Dress #4 is the same bodice as dress #3, which I will show you after the jump, but has a full skirt instead, and the bodice is white and the skirt is black. It wasn’t planned that way. I actually ran out of black broadcloth when I was cutting the bodice and realized I either needed to make the bodice outside a different color, or the lining. I chose the outside. And now I keep wondering how it would look (besides probably fun) to do the same dress again, but with sequined fabric for the bodice and a plain skirt fabric. Maybe a little prom-dressy.
