Day 89

The scale is holding steady today, and I’m happy to see it. Food was better then I expected as well, especially after I decided to have ramen for lunch. I was sure I was going to be over on points. I’ve been sticking pretty closely to the menu plan that I made up the last few days as well, only diverging from it a little. Tonight it said baked potatoes, but I had a bunch of mashed potatoes left over from when I made the shepherd’s pie, so we had those instead.

I’m spending my evening today typing up my recipes I have printed out in my binder so I have copies of them all on my computer as well. I might have some of these saved to a computer at my Mom’s house, but I’m not sure of that for all of them. Maybe over the next few days I’ll share some more of them here.

Gonna make it short today. Today’s eats.

Oatmeal w/Milk, Sugar & Berries (3/4 Cup Dry)        6.4
Coffee w Milk & Sugar        1.4
Ramen (1 Block)        8.4
Potatoes, Mashed w/Milk (1 Cup)        3.0
Pork Chop (5 Oz)        7.7
Mixed Veggies (1 Cup)        0.7

Total For Day        27.6

This leaves me with 26 flex left for the week. I hate using flex at the end of the week because its never good for my weigh in, so let’s see if I can avoid using any more of them until next week.

  • you sound so good. i think getting yourself organized and prepared makes things so much easier, especially since avoiding temptation is not always so tempting.

It is helping- I have a plan for dinner each night, and that eliminates that wondering what we’ll eat, contemplating going out, and ending up making something totally awful in terms of points. I’m really hoping we can keep this up- I’m loving it so far!

  • Deb this looks like a great balanced day. Just out of curiosity how did you feel after the oatmeal in the morning? I love my oats in the morning, but I know they aren’t for everyone. They usually fill me up for a few hours.

When I actually plan my dinners for the week things seem to flow much more smoothly. The trick for me is organizing my dinner schedule before I go grocery shopping. I’m a work in progress!

Hope you have a wonderful weekend!!

Hi Aimee. I’m still fine-tuning my oatmeal skills, for the first time in my life, I’m not using instant oatmeal that’s loaded up with who knows what, and there’s bit of a curve. However, it does keep me full longer then most other breakfast foods. That’s always a plus!

I went grocery shopping today based on what I have planned for the next week of dinners. I think it went pretty well, but we’ll see as the next week progresses.

Thanks! You have a great weekend too!
